Affordable community housing
Information for applicants and tenants
Global Sisters is advancing their desire to provide safe, sustainable and affordable rental housing for eligible women experiencing housing insecurity, alongside support to build greater financial and economic independence.
We aim to provide housing services that are fair, transparent, respectful and easy to understand that meet the needs of women and solo mum families, and other marginalised groups such as women with disabilities, migrants and first nations cohorts.

Applying for a Global Sisters home
Eligibility is based on household income, housing need, household circumstances and the requirements of the particular affordable housing program.
Being eligible does not guarantee an immediate offer. Available homes are allocated fairly and matched to suitable households.
Rent and eligibility reviews
Global Sisters sets affordable rent in line with NSW affordable housing requirements and our Rent and Charges Policy.
Eligibility and rent are reviewed periodically. An increase in income does not automatically mean you have to leave affordable housing. If your eligibility changes, we will explain the decision, give you an opportunity to request a review and, where appropriate, support a reasonable transition.
Living in a Global Sisters home
We want tenancies to be safe, stable and successful.
We provide information about tenant rights and responsibilities, repairs, household changes, inspections, pets, alterations and ending a tenancy.
We have not commenced tenancies as yet but we are developing a supportive framework in preparation for the future.
Your voice matters
Tenants will have opportunities to provide feedback through surveys, maintenance feedback, consultation and other engagement activities.
We use feedback, complaints and appeals to improve our services.
Complaints and appeals
You can raise concerns or ask us to review a decision without being disadvantaged for doing so.
A complaint is about the quality of our service or the way Global Sisters has acted. An appeal is a request for Global Sisters to reconsider a decision about your application or tenancy.
We aim to acknowledge complaints and appeals within 5 days and provide an outcome within 21 days, or tell you if more time is needed. Appeals are reviewed by a person who was not involved in making the original decision.
For free independent tenancy advice, contact your local Tenants Advice and Advocacy Service at tenants.org.au or call 1800 251 101.
