Global Sisters exists to dismantle the barriers preventing women achieving economic security.
We use an innovative, gender lens to micro business start-up and growth, enabling the smallest businesses in Australia to take their place as the backbone of our economy. Through systemic change, we help women build income, secure stable housing, and leverage both into permanent financial independence.
These foundations for economic security eliminate poverty, enable recovery from violence, and strengthen health and wellbeing across generations and communities.

Why we exist
Women continue to face significant barriers to economic participation and financial security.
For many women, traditional employment is not accessible, sustainable or flexible enough to meet the realities of their lives. Caring responsibilities, disability, geographic isolation, cultural barriers, financial hardship and experiences of violence can all limit pathways to stable income and economic independence.
At the same time, women remain underrepresented in entrepreneurship and face unequal access to finance, networks, opportunities and support.
We believe business can be a powerful pathway to economic security. When women have the opportunity to create income on their own terms, they gain greater control over their futures, strengthen their families and contribute to thriving communities.
What we do
Global Sisters makes business possible for women.
Through FREE business education, mentoring, coaching, connections and community, we support women to start, grow and sustain micro businesses.
We provide long-term support, meeting women wherever they are in their journey and helping them build the confidence, capability and networks needed to succeed.
But supporting individual women is only part of the solution.
We work alongside government, corporate, philanthropic and community partners to influence the systems that shape women's economic participation.
By addressing structural barriers and advocating for change, we are helping create an economy that works better for women.

We understand that women experience entrepreneurship differently and often face barriers that are invisible within traditional business support systems.
Our approach is designed to remove those barriers by creating pathways that are inclusive, accessible and responsive to women's lived experiences.
We back women before they have a business idea. We support them through start-up and growth. We create opportunities for connection, learning and visibility. Most importantly, we build confidence alongside capability.
Because economic participation should not depend on where you live, what resources you have access to, or the circumstances you face.
